Cultural Festival

Hai i’m back! Definitely i’m back with many stories, actually i want to share it on my blog. But, for this session my teacher gave the task that we have to post about the last event  of my school named MATSWAPATI. And now... i’ll share you about it. Enjot the story!

My school held an event on Saturday, 27th of September 2014 named Matswapati wich held at Lapangan Bali. Maybe, you get confused about the mean of “Matswapati”, okeey i’ll explain you. Matswapati is the name of the king named Prabu Matswapati. He is the king of all the king (if you know what i mean haha). Why this event be held? This event be held for celebrated anniversary 204th years of Bandung. But that’s not only to celebrate it, this event also had other purpose. You may know, the globalization bought many influences  for aur generation, there are postives side and negatives side. I won’t to criticsm about the positives side because he brings the modern technology that can make better our life. But... If we look at the other side, globalization make most people forgot about our tradisional culture such as traditional dance that replacement by modern dance like boyband and girlband haha, traditional games replacement by modern games like ANGRY BIRDS, PES, 2048, FLAPPY BIRD, CANDY CRUSH, and many others that i sure one of them available on your phone! Oke forget it. Nah, this event intend to remind you about the tradisional culture especially Sundanese culture with his catchword “Kenali Budayamu. Cintai Negerimu”.

*The start of my story*

I went to Lapangan Bali at 5.45 am because i have to be participated the parade of Matswapati. Before parade started, we prepared ourselves with wear costumes that had been previously agreed. When the parade was began, me and my classmates sang the short story named “yel-yel” as loud as possible with intent to invite the people was there to came to Matswapati. Parade started from Bali street passing trough Kalimantan and Sumatera street and finished at Bali street also. During the parade take places, i sang the’yel-yel’ as loud as posible with my fals voice haha because i’m not good at. But you have to know that my class winning parade contest and got a milion rupiah for it. OMG, we were happy because of that. Great right? Give applause for my classmates, they’re so great yeaay!!!

Ohya, after parade finished we entered Lapangan Bali. Every class must have a stand for display our artistry. We decorated our stand together and taadaaaaaaaaaaa!!! We have a painting of Cepot, and i say “made from Nadhira” Wooow she is very very creative person, she’s good at make a draw especially anime.

Our stand also have a game called “Sodok-Ah” Honestly i don’t know what’s the mean of the name. For playing this game, you just payed 2k, it so cheap right? I know the main property of this game just from bamboo shotgun with bullets are from wet newspaper. To play this game, i think its easy enough we had to shot the target, if the players succeed shot the target, they gain the points and win prizes. The prizes also from traditional culture such as puppets, traditional candies, and many others. I’m so happy at there because many visitors came to our stand although i’m not to try the game.
In this event, many guest stars that participated there are Tiloe’s Theatre, Keluarga Paduan Angklung, Samba Sunda Junior, Wayang Golek Giriharja, Saung Angklung Udjo, Barsena & KV3, and GLENN FREDLY! Actually, awaited things are performance by Barsena & KV 3 and especially Glenn Fredly. I saw when they performed, mos of visitors assemblagein front of the stage. They were very enthusiastic and looked happy to came to Matswapati.

Their perfomance are around 4 pm until 9 pm maybe, because i don’t followed the event completely. I grabed my bag and went home at 8.30 pm because i’m tired.
It was a memorable experience, exhausting day for me, but i’m happy in it, thanks guys!!!
